Drowning in my own refrain
I can't shake it haunting me
Running off this Tuesday drain

Chin held high total feign

Right left jab smartly

Pounding treadmills burning reign
Holding onto the lock box key

Racing round my own chicane
Limb and organ form chassis

Finding solace in the pain
Tears and sweat bead salty

Learning about a form called Villanelle. It's suppose to be rhythmic, which admittedly does get lost when you repeat the exact word instead of rhyming it. To learn more about the form, check it out on One Stop Poetry.

Shoveling Zen
In my driveway
Beginning-less end
Chasing flakes formed desire

Saving a quarter
Spending my time
Dispensing justification
No answers satisfy

Seeing while sleeping
Waking eyes blind
Midnight scars reflection
In morning sun rise

Puzzle pieces choosing
Not needing to rhyme
Knitting loopholes for laces
Life's wellspring fortify

Pressing boundaries

Starching the lines
